How to Park Hop Like a Pro in 2021

The moment we’ve all been waiting for…2021 is finally here! And for Disney guests, it also means that park hopping is officially BACK!!!!

Whoop whoop!!

How to park hop at Disney in 2021!

Since the Disney Park closures of March of 2020, park-hopping has been suspended. While we weren’t huge park hoppers to begin with, it’s funny how much you miss something once it’s gone!

We’re excited that it’s back because ya know…sometimes you want to start your day walking down Main Street, U.S.A. but end with a drink while hangin’ in the World Showcase. What can I say, we like options!😀

But just like everything else with Disney’s reopening, park hopping isn’t quite the same as it used to be. There’s a whole new system in place with some important information you’re going to want to know beforehand.

So let’s hop to it. (Sorry, I just had to!) Here’s how to park hop like a pro in 2021…

You must have park hopper benefits with your admission

In order to park hop, you must first have the park hopper option added to your admission. These ticket prices are a little higher because they include this benefit. If you purchased your tickets prior to park hopper availability, contact your travel agent or call Disney to upgrade your admission.

Make a Park Pass Reservation for the Park that You Want to Visit First

You still need to make a park pass reservation to be allowed entry into any of the Disney Parks. Before you go, make a park pass reservation for the park that you are going to be visiting first. You only need to make one park pass reservation. You do not need to make additional reservations, even if you plan on hopping to multiple parks later in the day.

Park pass reservations can be made on either Disney’s website here or on the My Disney Experience app.

Once you arrive to your first park, tap your Magic Band or park ticket upon entry. You are good to go! Enjoy this park until 2pm.

After 2 PM – Park Hop to Your Hearts Content

After 2 PM, you are free to park hop to any of the three other Disney locations. You can even visit all four parks in one day! It’s quite the feat but totally doable with the new system. As mentioned before, you do not need to make additional park pass reservations to visit the other parks after 2 PM.

That’s it! Pretty simple, right?!

Final Details on How to Park Hop

  • Each park’s capacity is still at 35%. If you’d like to ensure that there’s availability at the park that you’re hopping to, there’s a park hopper hotline that you can call. That number is (407) 560-5000. This is an automated system that will inform you if any of the parks are at capacity and are no longer accepting additional guests.
  • I don’t foresee this as a problem as most of the crowds begin to thin out after the 2 PM mark. If by the off chance the park you want to visit is at capacity, keep trying back. A lot of guests begin to leave as it gets later in the day.
  • Disney bus transportation is now available to transport you from park to park.
  • From the Ticket and Transportation Center, the Monorail is only available to the Magic Kingdom. The Monorail to EPCOT isn’t available just yet. Hopefully soon!
  • The Skyliner is a great way to get to Epcot and Hollywood Studios or vise versa.
  • Lastly, if you’re headed to Hollywood Studios, you will not be able to join a Rise of the Resistance boarding group. Disney just recently changed the process for this. (Again!) Boarding groups are only available at 7 AM and 1 PM and you must have a boarding group in order to ride that attraction.
