Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak is Epcot’s genius answer to help keep the kids entertained while eating and drinking your way around the World during Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival. Read on to learn how to get started and just how well we faired while on the hunt for Remy!
Last weekend we decided to conquer Epcot’s International Food & Wine Festival. I was super excited because…let’s just be serious, Food + Wine + Disney = LIFE!
My son…not so much! He’d rather stick it out in Future World and ride Test Track until he was blue in the face.
With the World Showcase calling my name, but with a kiddo who was not the least bit thrilled…what’s a mama (or a family, like yours) supposed to do?
Disney has created the perfect solution to help us parents get our food and wine on! It’s called Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak and my son absolutely adored it. This has been around for a while now, but this was our first time trying it out.
Who am I kidding? I really loved it, too! It made for an extra dose of fun (and exercise) while exploring all of the international pavilions. We were also forced to explore some of the hidden nooks and crannies within the countries that I’ve never really ventured into before. I’m seriously a World Showcase pro now. 😀
Today, I’m so excited to share with you everything you need to know about Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak Hunt for 2020!
Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak is a super fun scavenger hunt where you and your kiddos set out on a mission to locate Remy in each of the international pavilions around the World Showcase. You are given a map and a set of stickers. As you find Remy in each pavilion, you place a sticker on the designated spot on the map. Once you’ve filled out the map, you can turn it in and collect an exclusive prize!!
As we entered the World Showcase, we saw this sign posted right outside of Disney Traders. At the register, we were able to purchase the map and stickers to get started right away! The cost to play is $7.99. We used our Passholder discount which saved us 20%. I thought this was the best bargain EVER considering that even if you don’t complete the hunt, you can still claim your prize. I don’t know many other Disney souvenirs that are as budget-friendly. You can also keep the map and extra stickers, too! But more than half the fun is just the challenge of trying to find Remy.
The trifold map is made out of a sturdy cardstock type of paper. My son currently has his propped up on the bookshelf of his room. It makes for a fun piece of memorabilia even after the hunt is through.
Everybody loves the Little Chef. He’s a real treat to try and find!! We started our search at the Mexico Pavillion and because we didn’t really know what to look for, he was a little tricky to find at first.
We ended up asking a friendly Cast Member for a hint. He was happy to oblige. Here’s what we learned and hopefully these hints will guide you along, too!
Nope! No spoilers here. Now, what would the fun be in that?😀
After finding the last Remy in Canada, we headed back to Disney Traders and my son got to show off his scavenger hunt skills! He loved being able to tell the Cast Member behind the register about how he was able to find all the Remy’s. She was so sweet and genuinely was excited for him.
The prizes have changed over the years, but for 2020, you are able to pick your choice out of four different water bottle designs.
How cute are these?
My son went with the Remy, of course. (That is the only choice that would make sense to him after spending all that time hunting him down!)
I personally love the Figment one. I mean, look at him in his chef hat cookin’ up some imagination!
More Great Info: I asked a Cast Member to find out if the Remy’s are always in the same location. I was told that every year they do move him around a bit and the prizes also change. This is exciting to know that on your next Disney trip, the hunt will be a bit new and different every time.
Have you or anyone in your family participated in Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak? Did you love it as much as your kid? Let me know about your experience! Did you find every Remy? I’d love to hear your story!
