Drinkwallah: A Quirky Animal Kingdom Beverage & Snack Stand that You Must Try

Wanna know a crazy Disney fact?

Did you know that Animal Kingdom is hotter than any of the other three Walt Disney World parks?

It’s true!

While I don’t pretend to be an expert, it has something to do with all the trees and plants. Apparently, they let off an absorbant amount of heat and moisture.

This totally explains why I NEVER have a good hair day in Animal Kingdom! But at this point, my mantra has just become, “throw on a pair of Minnie ears and I’m good!”

Ok, so back to the real reason why you came to this post…

Drinkwallah

With all that extra heat and humidity, we find ourselves craving an icy cool beverage more often than not.

Whether that’s a cold draft beer or another type of frozen treat…by mid-afternoon we are PARCHED!! And trust me, you will be too!

A fun place to quench that crazy thirst is at Drinkwallah. This is a quirky little stand that offers frozen beverages, soft drinks, and grab-and-go snacks.

Location

Technically, Drinkwallah is located in Asia. But really it’s located right between Africa and Asia. For reference, you can find it as you’re making your way across the bridge from Discovery Island to Asia. (It’ll be on your right.)

Or if you’re traveling from Africa towards Asia, it’s right across from the UP! Bird Show and the Yak & Yeti Restaurant.

Drinkwallah Menu

The thing that makes this place a popular spot is the Frozen Coca-Cola. Disney fans love this stuff and I can see why!

A cold fizzy coke just hits the spot, especially when you’re dying of thirst.

But make it a slushy…

and all of a sudden, you’re no longer seeing mirages! You will now survive the scorcher that is Animal Kingdom. LOL!

Joking aside, it is tasty and will totally cool you down on a hot Animal Kingdom-Orlando-kind-of-day. 😀

Here’s the menu that’s posted right out front of Drinkwallah. During our latest visit, we opted for the Frozen Coca-Cola in the Lion King Novelty Cup ($9.99).

Well, actually I just wanted to order sans the Novelty Cup but I was told that it only comes in the Novelty Cup. I’m not sure why that is. On Disney’s website, it does list just the regular slushy at $4.99.

I’ll continue to try and get to the bottom of this and keep you posted.

We did score two fun cups out of the deal, so I guess it’s ok. But I just want to give you a heads up, just in case the Novelty Cup is the only option right now.

Want an adult version of the Frozen Coca-Cola?! For two dollars more you can get yours with Captain Morgan. (That’s next on my list!)

You can also grab bottled water and sodas.

The Cinnamon-Glazed Almonds and Pecans are the other popular choices here. Fresh popcorn and bags of chips are also available.

You can view the full menu {HERE}.

Atmosphere

At first glance, the place looks just like a little roadside stand. But as you’re sippin’ your Frozen Coca-Cola, take the time to really take in all the details.

As with the rest of the theming in Animal Kingdom – it’s incredible. Just look at this one little corner of Drinkwallah. I mean, c’mon!

If you’re looking for a place to sit and relax, there is seating available behind the stand. You can see the arrow sign that directs you to “Lower Garden Seating.”

There are stairs there that will lead you down to a covered outdoor seating area. This is down by the water. It offers some beautiful views of the Tree of Life.

This also makes for a GREAT place to catch the floating Character Cavalcades! So have your camera out and ready. You’ll be able to wave at the characters as they float by.
