Disney Park Essentials: What to Pack for a Magical Day -

As an Orlando local who lives behind Disney World (yes, Mickey Mouse is my neighbor!), I’ve mastered the art of packing the perfect Disney park bag. Trust me, having the right essentials can turn a good day at the parks into a GREAT one. Here’s my go-to list of Disney park essentials, so you’re ready for anything—rain, shine, or long lines!

A Poncho and Travel Umbrella
Florida weather is as unpredictable as it gets. My favorite poncho folds neatly into a small travel bag, so it’s easy to carry. During the summer, I also bring a sun umbrella—this fair-skinned girl needs a shield against the blazing Orlando sun.

A Backpack to Hold It All
Choose a lightweight, comfortable backpack to store your essentials. I keep mine organized with my ID, credit card, sunscreen, lip balm, an anti-chafe stick (a must for all-day walking), gum or mints, and hair scrunchies.

Hydration Must-Haves
Stay hydrated with a refillable water bottle. And did you know? Disney offers free water refills at quick-service locations.

Mouse Ears and Pin Lanyard
You can’t visit Disney without a pair of adorable mouse ears! If you’re into pin trading, a lanyard is perfect for showcasing your collection or keeping your Key to the World card (park tickets) handy.

Protect yourself from the sun with a good hat and stylish sunnies. These are essential! Oh, and I love these earrings. They are so simple, cute and go with just about anything.

These items keep me comfortable and prepared, whether I’m dodging an afternoon storm, waiting for the parade, or running off to ride Pirates of the Caribbean (my fav!).
